Job Description:

Objective Join a well-established manufacturing organization serving the Oil & Gas and Industrial sectors. This role seeks a skilled Design Engineer specialist to enhance manufacturing excellence and drive innovation across dual facility operations. Responsibilities Engineer and refine gear production methodologies encompassing machining, hobbing, grinding, and thermal treatment processes Analyze technical drawings and product specifications to maintain quality benchmarks and performance criteria Evaluate and recommend optimal tooling, materials, and equipment for gear manufacturing operations Create custom fixtures and specialized tooling solutions to enhance production capabilities Champion continuous improvement methodologies and lean manufacturing principles Partner with cross-functional teams including design, quality assurance, and production to address manufacturing obstacles Lead troubleshooting efforts and implement corrective measures for gear-related product issues Maintain expertise in industry developments, gear standards (AGMA, ISO), and advancing technologies Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent discipline Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in high-volume gear manufacturing environments Proven experience developing heat treatment protocols with strong metallurgical background Comprehensive knowledge of gear configurations (spur, helical, bevel, etc.) and cutting techniques Proficiency with CNC machining systems, CAD/CAM applications, and gear design software Deep understanding of lean manufacturing principles; Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively in team-oriented environments System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé, ALTA IT Services, and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
