Job Description:
Full-time, 40 Hours/Week Day Shift Onsite Summary: The Director
of Provider Compensation is responsible for the strategic
oversight, development, implementation, and administration of
provider (Physician and Advanced Practice Providers) compensation
programs across Akron Children's. This position ensures that
compensation plans are competitive, equitable, compliant with
regulatory requirements (e.g., Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute),
and aligned with the organization's strategic goals and clinical
performance objectives. Responsibilities: Partner with senior
physician and administrative leadership on the strategic design and
operational implementation of provider compensation (e.g.,
physicans and advanced practice providers) models to align with
organizational goals to ensure equity, transparency, and
sustainability. Ensure compliance with federal and state
regulations, including fair market value (FMV) and commercial
reasonableness standards. Conduct regular compensation benchmarking
using industry surveys (e.g., MGMA, AMGA, SullivanCotter).
Collaborate with legal, finance, and operational teams to structure
and review provider contracts and compensation models. Support the
recruitment and retention of providers through competitive
compensation strategies. Lead the annual compensation review cycle,
including salary adjustments and bonus payouts. Provide education
to physician leaders and executives on compensation plan design and
performance metrics. Collaborate and partner with key stakeholders
on business planning, and growth strategies, providing expertise in
physician compensation to ensure financial alignment,
sustainability, and support for strategic expansion initiatives.
Partner with finance and analytics teams to ensure accurate
reporting of productivity (e.g., wRVUs), quality performance, and
other incentive-based metrics. Maintain documentation and audit
trails for all compensation arrangements. Lead, mentor, and manage
a high-performing team, fostering professional growth,
accountability, and collaboration to ensure effective execution of
departmental goals and initiatives. Monitor market trends and
legislative changes to proactively adjust strategies as needed.
Other information: Technical Expertise Familiarity with physician
productivity metrics, including wRVUs and value-based care
incentives. Experience working in a multi-specialty or
hospital-based provider environment. Ability to manage complex
stakeholder relationships and balance competing priorities.
In-depth understanding of healthcare provider compensation models,
regulatory compliance, and industry benchmarks. Strong project
management, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
Education and Experience Education: Bachelor's degree in business,
healthcare management, finance, or related field (Master's
preferred). Licensure: None Certification: Certification in
compensation or healthcare compliance (e.g., CCP, CHHR, CHC). Years
of relevant experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in
provider compensation or healthcare finance. Years of supervisory
experience: At least 3 years in a leadership role. Full Time FTE:
