UPMC Passavant is currently hiring a Full Time Staff Nurse to
support the Med/Surg Oncology Unit at our McCandless location. /n
Types of Patients you will work with on the Unit: /n About 6
Pavilion: /n /n - 6 Pavilion is an oncology unit encompassing both
medical and surgical oncology patients. /n - Specializing in liver,
lung, and abdominal cancers as well as the care of post-op thoracic
surgery patients. /n - UPMC Passavant foundation supports our RNs
with certifications. /n - Nurses will be trained in the
administration of chemotherapy. /n - Certification from the
Oncology Nursing Society is highly encouraged and supported. /n -
Opportunity to attend specialized training in Wellness and
Integrative Oncology through the Nurse Ambassador Program at
Hillman Cancer Center. /n /n This position will work rotating

/n - Communicates with peers and management any safety hazards

the episode of care as well as transition to another level of care

holistic manner. /n - Demonstrates critical thinking in the
identification of clinical, social, safety, psychological and
spiritual issues for the patient care within an episode of care. /n
- Practices solid communication skills, and is able to articulate
and translate the patient's condition to other care providers and
to negotiate and make recommendations for changes in patient care
and unit practices. /n - Patient documentation is comprehensive and
promotes communication between caregivers. /n - Creates a caring
and compassionate patient focused experience by building healing
relationships with patients, families and colleagues. /n - Serves
as a highly engaged and full partner on the care team and responds
willingly to care team member needs for assistance and partnership.
/n - Takes personal responsibility in improving patient
satisfaction with the quality of care and service. /n /n /n - Zero
to six months experience. /n - BSN preferred. /n - Ability to
establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with
executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers,
ancillary and support staff, other departments, and
patients/families. /n - Critical thinking skills necessary to
exercise and to lead others in application of the nursing process.
/n - Mobility and visual manual dexterity. Physical stamina for
frequent walking, standing, lifting and positioning of patients. /n
/n Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: /n /n - UPMC approved
national certification preferred. /n - Current Pennsylvania
licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse. /n - CPR required
based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills
demonstration component within 30 days of hire /n - Basic Life
Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) /n -
