registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years Stepdown RN
experience required. Applicants who do not meet these
qualifications will not be considered. An opportunity is available
for a knowledgeable Registered Nurse with stepdown and med-surg
experience to provide exceptional patient care on a 13-week
contract assignment. This role focuses on caring for patients with
respiratory issues, weakness, urinary tract infections, acute
kidney injury, and chest pain in a dynamic stepdown setting with a
20-bed unit. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver comprehensive nursing
care to stepdown and med-surg patients with complex medical needs.
- Titrate drips including heparin, insulin, Cardizem, and
amiodarone according to protocols. - Monitor vital signs and
cardiac telemetry, interpreting data independently. - Collaborate
with respiratory therapists utilizing equipment such as CPAP,
BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen. - Serve as charge nurse or house
supervisor as needed. - Adhere to unit-specific policies, including
dress code and orientation requirements. Qualifications & Desired
Experience: - Current RN licensure with stepdown and med-surgical
nursing experience. - BLS and ACLS certification required. -
Skilled in managing monitored patients with a typical
nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 in stepdown and 1:5-6 on the floor. -
Comfortable working alongside nurse aides and monitor techs. -
Ability to fulfill weekend and holiday rotation shifts (12-hour
shifts, 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule). - Valid drivers
license required for submission due to 50-mile radius policy.
