(AHA), NIHSS Must-Have: Must be comfortable with ratios up to 1:7
Description: Unit has a capacity of 30 beds. Ratios are 1:6/7, with
flexibility for 1:7. Candidates must be comfortable with this
patient ratio. Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, cellulitis, R/O,
chole, appendicitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, and AKI. There is one
charge RN on the floor with assignments. Patient Care Technicians
(PCTs) are present on the unit. RNs are required to titrate heparin
drips based on APTT results. There is no vent equipment;
intermittent BIPAP is used. Telemetry is available and monitored
remotely by techs. Shifts are transitioning to a new scheduling
system. Weekends and holidays are scheduled as needed, typically
half of the total weekends. There is no standby or call
requirement. RNs may float as needed based on census. Scrub color
is navy blue. Cancellation policy applies for shifts missed during
the contract. Charting is done through the EPIC system. A BSN is
not required for this position. No trauma level requirements for
this role. Care setting is acute. Division is nursing. 5 Benefits
