Summary: The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership is seeking a full-time
Events Operations Specialist to take a leading role for on-site
execution and oversight of recurring and one-off special events and
programming in both Mellon and Market Square, as well as other
locations around Downtown Pittsburgh if needed. This position will
assist at a variety of PDP programming including recurring weekly
programming such as, Yoga, Happy Hours, Night Markets, Farmers
Markets. They will also assist in limited programming, including
Picklesburgh, World Square, Light Up Night and holiday activations.
As a member of the Special Events team at the PDP, the Operations
Event Staff will report to the Director of Special Events.
Representative Duties and Responsibilities: Hands-on execution of
events including not limited to: setting up/tearing down tents,
tables, and chairs, info tent staffing, coordinating vendor
location and parking, power distribution, sound equipment, lights
Foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere to enhance the visitor's
experience Onsite problem solving, conflict resolution, and other
duties comparable to the level/type as assigned Oversee part time
staff and ambassadors- when applicable - related to event execution
The work schedule will generally span from Wednesday to Sunday, and
may include daytime and evening hours, contingent upon the Special
Events calendar. Desired Characteristics & Requirements Previous
event experience preferred Strong attention to detail Excellent
communication skills Display flexibility and ability to work
effectively in a team environment Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
and stand for extended periods of time Must be willing to work
outside in varying weather conditions Strong customer service
skills and comfort working with the general public Ability to
prioritize and effectively act in a fast-paced environment All
staff must have or be willing to get PA Criminal History, Child
Abuse History, FBI Criminal History clearances Compensation Hourly
Rate: $20/hour Benefits: Health insurance (95%), Flexible Spending
