Job Description:
Manages, reviews, and processes events based on the features and
functions of HRIS system. Administers, promotes and evaluates
Summa’s comprehensive benefit programs. Ensures compliance with
laws, provisions of insurance plans, and organizational policies.
Minimum Qualifications: 1. Formal Education Required: • Bachelor’s
Degree in Business, Human Resources, Computer Science, or closely
related field of study or equivalent combination of education
and/or experience. 2. Experience & Training Required: • Four (4)
years employee benefits, insurance (health, life, and long-term
disability), or Human Resources experience, which has provided the
opportunity to utilize a variety of software packages (i.e. work
processing, spreadsheets, and databases); includes one year
experience utilizing Lawson or other HRIS systems. • Possesses
extensive knowledge of workers’ compensation rules and laws and
knowledge of employment laws, i.e., FMLA, ADA and OSHA. 3. Other
Skills, Competencies and Qualifications: • Ability to manage time
effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines • Thorough knowledge
of benefit laws such as Section 125, ERISA, EEO Regulations, FMLA,
COBRA, ADA etc. • Excellent analytical, written and verbal
communication skills • Ability to maintain working relationships
with employees, union, physicians, hospital departments, state
agencies and external agencies participating in management or
review of leaves/claims and claimant’s attorneys • Maintains
confidentiality of employee records • Ability to perform in
work-team environment • Possesses technical/PC skills sufficient to
have working knowledge of multiple software packages, i.e.,
Compensate, Lawson, Outlook, Word, Access, Kronos, etc. 4. Level of
Physical Demands: • Sedentary: Exerts up to ten pounds of force
occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently Equal

range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of
any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of
relevant experience and geographical location are considered when
determining the starting rate of pay. We believe in the importance
of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team
members when determining offers. Please keep in mind that the range
that is listed is the full base salary range. Hiring at the maximum
of the range would not be typical.
