Description Position Title: Collector Department: Retail Loss Mitigation Position Reports to: Loss Mitigation Manager and Assistant Manager Position Supervises: No Direct Reports Position Summary: The Collector position is responsible for reviewing delinquent accounts in order to evaluate and resolve delinquent status. Make contact with the customer to bring resolution to the account by utilizing all loss mitigation alternatives. Typically performs collection duties on more complex or higher delinquent accounts by making calls, and managing, preparing, and up-keep of accurate records for loans. Demonstrate and implement our Trusted Advisor strategy to all internal and external customers. Duties and Responsibilities: Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers. Advanced collection calls on more complex or higher delinquent accounts. Utilize telephone, electronic and regular mail, and personal and/or third party vendors for contact. Establish Quality Right Party Contact with customers within the established investor guidelines. Utilize all alternatives to foreclosure/repossession: Refinance, Repayment Plan, Modification, Forbearance, Voluntary Surrender, Short Sale, Deed In Lieu, etc. Follow collection que guidelines to ensure all accounts are worked in a timely manner to achieve servicing standards and control losses. Utilize all available skip tracing tools to establish contact with customers. Adhere to established timelines for recommendation of foreclosure, repossession, or other legal action. Provide advanced guidance on non-routine situations. Assist in answering phones and client questions. Assist with monthly reporting as assigned. Work with lenders on delinquent accounts. Prepare Charge off requests. Assist in cross training of department team members as well as other department team members when needed. Provides more complex research services as needed. Expanded knowledge of Premier Bank's policies and procedures, demonstrates ability to apply knowledge to make decisions. Complete other duties as assigned. Position offers Level 1 or Level 2 and will be offered based on experience Education, Certification, License and Experience: High School graduate or equivalent. 2-5 years loan and collection experience. One year experience in servicing investor loans; i.e. Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, VA, FHA is desirable. Skills and Knowledge: Basic understanding of Company operations. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Responsible for knowing and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines, as detailed in policies that include but are not limited to Bank Secrecy Act and other applicable anti-money-laundering rules, Right to Financial Privacy, Fair Lending, Community Reinvestment Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, and other laws and regulations as they pertain to the position. Experience in Word and Excel. Solid writing, analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects. Ability to utilize technology in solving problems and performing duties. Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak or hear, stand or sit for long periods of time, open filing cabinets, walk, stoop or bend, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and complete tasks requiring manual dexterity.
