Job Description:

Overview The Hope Center for Cancer Care is focused on fighting cancer and blood disorders in the greater Youngstown - Warren metro area. We are seeking a full-time Scheduler to join our team in our Howland clinic. This team member will have a significant level of direct interaction with patients. This is a Monday through Friday position with no weekend, nights, or holiday hours. Responsibilities Schedules new patients and return appointments in computer system in accordance with physician and/or office guidelines. Cancels/reschedules appointments according to physician schedule changes; notifies appropriate clinic personnel. Handles incoming phone calls from patients needing to schedule or reschedule appointments. Obtains and enters all authorization and correspondence relating to referrals in patients charts and computer for new patients. Provides patients with accurate and legible appointment cards. Documents' no shows in patient's chart for missed visits. Follow up with patient to reschedule any missed appointments. Demonstrates an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required. One-year scheduling experience preferred; preferably in a medical office setting. Physical Demands: Work may require sitting for long periods of time; also, stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies. Occasionally lifting to 30 pounds. Requires manual dexterity enough to operate a keyboard, calculator, telephone, copier, and other office equipment. Vision must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contact.
