SUMMARY: The Applications Engineer is a technical authority to the organization on all of Cattron's products. Individuals in this position must have in depth knowledge of product application, product design, and industry standards. Applications Engineers are primarily focused on new orders designing current Cattron products that meet customer requirements. Once that determination has been made, the Application Engineer create custom design drawings, order specific programming requirements and bill of materials. The Applications Engineer supports sourcing, production personnel and inspection and test personnel in the design, build, and testing of the products. Engineers shall provide technical customer phone support during the integration process of Cattron products and may travel to the customer site to provide onsite installation support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Design radio remote control system designs based on customer specifications documented in the customer order
* Create AutoCAD Electrical for the Operator Control Unit and the Machine Control Unit. Drawings for each order are comprehensive and detailed.
* Develop custom software for each order using proprietary Cattron software. Knowledge programming PLC is preferred.
* Utilizing AutoCAD Electrical automated bill of material, the individual is responsible for reviewing the accuracy and completeness of the bill of material.
* Using Cattron's ERP system the individual is responsible for entering the bill of material and labor hours into the ERP system.
* Provide technical support to the entire organization for one or more Company product line
* Review opportunities (RFQ's) and specify company product to meet customer applications
* Interact with customers while developing product solutions and closing new business

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

* Industry knowledge of product application preferred but not required
* Personal computer skills such as MICROSOFT OFFICE and relational database.
* Knowledge of product design and shop floor processes as required to support manufacturing
* Intermediate knowledge of electrical controls, (preferably Material Handling Industry)
* Excellent people skills as required for customer interaction and to team with other personnel in meeting customer expectations
* Ability to work well in a team environment
* Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups
* Ability to work under direct supervision
* Ability to work with clearly defined project steps
* Limited knowledge of a particular technical area

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Software Engineering
* Additional relative experience may be considered for less formal education.
* 5+ years of experience

SCHEDULE

* This position works daylight shift and currently offers the individual to work out of their home office 2 - 3 days per week (subject to change). The individual may be required to work overtime based on order demands or special project assignments.
