Job Description Ultium Cells Overview:Ultium Cells is a joint
venture lithium-Ion automotive battery cell manufacturing plant
between LG Energy Solutions and General Motors. This new
construction high-technology plant will have the latest battery
cell manufacturing technology. The investment in this new business
venture represents a commitment of more than $2.3 Billion. It will
be among the largest battery cell manufacturing plants in the
world. Ultium Cells will produce battery cells for General Motors
North American electric vehicle applications.The Ultium cell
partners include LG Energy Solutions; the world's largest
manufacturer of automotive battery cells in the world and General
Motors a global company committed to delivering safer, better and
more sustainable ways for people to get around.Position
Description: The Material Handler / Mobile Equipment Associate is
responsible for the first step in the cell manufacturing process by
insuring all materials are supplied to the line by using material
handling equipment, computers and scanners, for production of a
world class product. The Associate will also be responsible for all
aspects of the shipping department. Upon an employment offer,
Ultium Cells will provide training to all incoming team members. As
an introductory role, interested candidates are encouraged to apply
regardless of their level of expertise. Job Responsibilities:
- Understand and demonstrate workplace and process safety, PPE
requirements, including for hazardous materials, equipment and
other general workplace requirements
- Demonstrate the ability to learn and use computers, scan guns,
shipping and receiving processes to receive stock and ship material
out of the plant.
- Working in a fast-paced environment safely.
- Work at heights occasionally above 20ft.
- Demonstrate understanding and ability to use Human Machine
Interface (HMI) to monitor calls from production floor for raw
material for delivery.
- Pushing and pulling carts in excess of 100lbs.
- Lifting up to 50lbs, occasionally more.
- Inspect product before delivery for non-conforming
material
- Operate equipment including fork trucks, tuggers, manual
pendent controls for crane operation, conveyor, hand-jack and other
equipment as needed
- Demonstrate the ability to adapt to unique situations when the
need arises
- Working outside on a rotation basis in all conditions.
- Verifying the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming
deliveries
- Labeling every product and placing them accordingly
- Identifying and locating the right products during the delivery
process
- Keeping a well-maintained and updated account of stock and
inventory
- Handling returns by completing technical documentation and
other required communication
- Keeping all material handling equipment in the best condition
by conducting regular maintenance
- Keeping the area clean and free of debris, floors clean. (Work
Place Organization)
- Additional duties as assignedQualifications and Competencies:
- Exhibit an understanding of metric weights and measures
- Demonstrate basic math and reading comprehension
- Ability to pass mobile equipment training and demonstrate safe
driving practices
- Willingness to drive different types of large equipment.
- Easily demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving,
attention to detail, decision making and troubleshooting
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to demonstrate effective verbal and electronic
communication skills, including active listening skills
- Basic understanding and experience/comfort level with computers
and digital equipment including experience using Microsoft
Office
- Organizational skills
- Adept at handling multiple complex tasks simultaneously
- Proficiency with prioritizing and meeting multiple
deadlines
- Excellent time management

- Knowledge of inventory control
- Use of PPE including clean room gown, safety glasses and steel
