Description The Simulator Development & Integration team is leading
the way in developing advanced simulation training tools used in
the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP) to train Sailors. This
business area continues to expand as the demand for high fidelity,
reliable, and cost-effective training solutions grows. Currently,
there is an opportunity for a highly qualified and motivated
project manager as part of the Next Generation Training Program
(NGTP), and its suite of simulators, which will be developed and
delivered over the next two decades. The team needs versatile team
members who are comfortable working in a fast paced, high
visibility environment in both individual and team roles. The
successful candidate will be responsible for developing,
submitting, and maintaining program and project management
documentation, leading teams through project completion, and
presenting to peers, managers, and NR as applicable. Specific
duties and responsibilities for this role include: identify and
mitigate project risks, evaluate change requests and approve or
reject as appropriate, and manage overall cost versus budget
Develop and track program/project performance metrics and analyze
data trends to extrapolate future performance Review
program/project performance metrics and take appropriate action to
correct deviations from plan Develop periodic program/project
assessments and communicate status with stakeholders Support
solicitation, placement, and subsequent follow and oversight of
sub-tier supplier contracts and manage subcontracted relationships
Review and concur with project contracts and contract changes and
ensure contract obligations are met Interface with and integrate
efforts of all stakeholders, functional management, and support
personnel to ensure project objectives are achieved Lead team
through successful project execution Create and maintain team
infrastructure, obtain necessary resources to staff and support the
project, define scope and work breakdown structure, develop cost
estimates and resource-loaded schedules. The position requires
close interaction and coordination with other project managers,
engineers, and management across multiple sites and organizations
to ensure successful completion of project objectives, including
close collaboration with stakeholder across NNL, BPMI, Naval
Reactors, and sub-tier suppliers. Periodic travel to NNPP and
sub-tier supplier sites is required to effectively manage project
execution. Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill Bachelor's
degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 9
years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited
college or university in a related field and a minimum of 7 years
of relevant experience. Preferred Skills NNL PMCP Level 1 or
greater PMI or other professional society certification Previous
experience with Primavera P6 Previous experience with new project
startup, cost estimating, technical writing, and sub-tier supplier
oversight An understanding of developing and tracking performance
metrics and an ability to analyze data trends to extrapolate future
performance Ability to work independently and complete assignments
for all aspects of work with minimal direction from management

$166,000.00 annually Salary information provided is a general
guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience
and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of
Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned
subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel
are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities: Bettis Atomic
Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A.
Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S.
Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston.
FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous
shipyards and vendor locations. For nearly 70 years, the Naval
