Job Description:
This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations
of the Logistics building. This is a hands-on role that will
require the manager working 50% of their time on the plant floor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following is an outline
of the basic duties and responsibilities of the position identified
above. It describes the duties and responsibilities in the broad
scope, and is not intended to be all-inclusive. Individual(s) in
this position may from time-to-time be assigned other duties as
appropriate. Provides daily direction & leadership to the Logistics
team. Accountable for staffing, training and motivation of the
employees of the Logistics team; develops a teamwork environment,
builds departmental standards for performance, ensures that all
employees are properly trained. Conducts annual reviews for
employees. Responsible for the hiring of new employees, as well as
documenting and enacting disciplinary actions, up to and including
employee terminations. Purchases and stores supplies necessary to
assure timely shipment of finished product to the customer.
Conducts physical inventory counts to assure inventory and cycle
count adjustments are accurate. Responsible for all incoming,
outgoing, and warehouse movements of materials. Ensures materials
shipped & received are verified against proper documentation, and
ERP system is kept updated. Ships orders to assure timely delivery
to the customer and expedites orders as necessary. Establishes and
maintains procedures for determining and meeting customer delivery
commitments. Promotes continual improvement and assists Operations
in implementation of operating procedures. Monitors the quality,
quantity, cost and efficiency of inbound and outbound shipments.
Maintains working relationships with transportation
representatives, vendors and suppliers to ensure cost control and
competitiveness. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Professionalism
and integrity Ability to plan, manage, and balance multiple
projects, tasks, customer demands. Strong Microsoft Office skills,
especially Excel or Access Proven analytical skills and attention
to detail. Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
Experience with International Shipments Broad knowledge of
accounting concepts, especially inventory accounting and shipping
procedures Experience in manufacturing required; the chemical and /
or plastics industries preferred. EDUCATION/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Preferred Bachelor’s Degree Experience in International Shipments
Minimum Associate’s Degree 5 years of experience in materials and
production
